Tokha A Historical Place
Nepal is one of the richest
country in its cultural heritage. It has different culture and values. People
of Nepal are divided into 4 races with 36 casts. It is divided into 14 zone
with 75 district. It's national language is Nepali. But according to the different
news and research king Mahendra had registered Newari languase as national
language in UN. And 1st National anthem as Rajamati Kumati. Nepali Language
does not have its own Lipi (ie. alphabets). whereas Nepal bhasa has its own
lipi called Nepal lipi. Ranjana is also known as Nepal lipi. it has its own
alphabets.
The capital of the country is "Kathmandu" where
90% above people are newar. Remaining people are from the different part of the
country. Now a days, the population of newars are very low and Kathmandu is
over populated with the people from all over Nepal as well as India. Kathmandu
is surrounded by 2 major district of Nepal called Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. These three District
have mostly newar people. In Kathmandu there are several Municipalities and VDCs. It hase Different historic town Like
Kirtipur, Tokha etc. Among them Tokha is one of the most historical place. While
traveling to Tokha 1st of all we will have to enter from a big gate which is
placed at Southern part of the city. This gate is known as Mu: dhoka. After
entering from that gate there are various ways to enter at different places of
Tokha area. This is the historical village. Tokha is also a Newa village. It
has many historical temples like chandeshwori, shiva, etc. Baisakh of every
year, a big mela (ie. festival) is held in this village called sapantirtha. It is also kwnon as "sapana Tirtha".
People believe that bathing at the lake of sapantirtha on baisakh mela will cure
all the infection of the body or if some people are physically disable will be
reproduce their limbs or hands. And will be physically able person. All these
belief came from ancient story. According to that story, one day a physically
disable person of this village dream. In his dream he was sitting in front of that
pond and being sad of his disabilities he was thinking of people who dominate
him. At the same time he saw a grasshopper in front of him. He catch that
insect and pull out its limb and throw it into pond. He do this un knowingly.
He do not have any intention to hurt that insect. But after a few second that
insect came out of that pond with his limbs. By sawing this amazing incident he
pray for god and god appears in front of him and told him that this water is holly
water and if any disable person take bath in this pond then his/her
disabilities will be gone forever. After this he wake up and that early morning
he went to that pond and took a bath. After that his hand reproduced . He
became very happy and told everything to the villagers. So from that day people
of Tokha as well as Nepal worship Goddess Chandeswori and Take a bath at that
pond. Tokha is also known as the village of sugar candy. Huge amount of natural
sugar candy is produce from tokha. So this village is also called "Chaku ya
Basti" Many internal and external tourist visit tokha. Now a days Tokha is
developing day by day.
