Dharmasthali historical place of Nepal


Dharmasthali is one of the historical place lies in Kathmandu district. It is very rich in its cultural heritage. In the ancient history of Nepal, this place was the rout for Goshain Kunda. People take this rout and spend their night at this place. This place is also morally attached with religious people. The people with faith on religion came through this rout and spend night at this place. Due to all these kind of activities make this place named "Dharmasthali". The original name of this place is "Dhamathuu" but in the course of time "Dhamathuu" is called as "Dharmasthali". This place is located in about 3km far from Northern part of "Lu Hiti" Balaju, Kathmandu. This place has majority of "Newar's". Cast's Like Maharjan, Dangol, Shrestha, Bindukar, Nakarmi, Khadgi, Kapali, Prajapati, etc are found in this place. According to the government data, this village contain about 400 houses. This village is coated as historically and culturally Importance. It is said that the establishment of this place was begins from the time of King "Maana Dev". "Lord Ganesh, Lord Natyeshwor, Pith Gaan, Baha, Bahi" etc are established in this place. The people of this locality still continue their religious jatra and parva's every year. The main jatra of this place is called "Paha chare". In every year on chilga Chare (According to Nepal sambat) is called "Paha chare" and on that day people of Dharmasthali celebrate Jatra. The Jatra of Ajima, Mahankal and Ganesh was performed by local people. Each and every god and goddess are placed in their single "Khaat" (i.e. type of throne) and take them to the different part of the village, carrying by local people. All these Khaat contains 5 god's and goddess. Each three Khaat contain's 3 different Lord Ganesh and other two each khaat contains Goddess Ajima and god Mahankal. In 1st one of Khaat contains, "Dharmathu Ganesh", 2nd one Contains "Jaranku Ganesh", and 3rd one contains "Pahara Ganesh". In the same way 4rth khaat contains Ajima and 5th one contains Mahankal.
                                    At the time of jatra Newar's cultural musical instrument's like "Dhime, Naya Kheen, Pwongaa, Basuri, Dhaa, etc are played. On that day the local people eat Bhooj call "Chwoyla Bhuu". Chwoyla Bhuu is the one of the eating culture in which buffalo meat is kept in fire for few minutes and take out, after that all necessary ingredients are put together in it, which makes it very delicious for eat. The day after, i.e. on the day of "Aaushi" Dware puja will perform. On that day all five Khhat's are placed on center of the village after performing jatra at different part of the village. This day is also an important day for all people of Dharmasthali. Likewise on the day of "Chaulathwo Paru" Sindur jatra will be performed. Thousands of people make participate in this ritual. Sindur (holly color) are spread in the sky. Everybody sing and dance and worship the god and goddess. On the day of "Dritiya" everybody takes rest. No jatra will perform on that day. Finally the last day of jatra i.e. on the day of "Tritiya" the khaat of goddess kali try's to take out from the Nagar but try to stop by remaining khaat's, this is called "Dhyo Lan Panegu" and Dhyo Lwakegu" jatra. This jatra is most interesting. All these jatra and culture heritages are keeping alive Dhamathu. These rituals are the identity of Dhamathu.
